That’s Waikiki and some guy fishing. I did not eat him, but I did eat some tasty vegan food here in Honolulu.
I’ve been here a few days, but yesterday I got to go out to Peace Cafe. Totally worth the walk from Ala Moana.
Yummy macha latte, which I’d never had before, but I was branching out… and thirsty.
BBQ tempeh plate with caesar salad instead of green salad. Everything else was great, but my complaint is really that tempeh with bbq sauce placed in a strip atop it isn’t really “bbq tempeh.” Still, tasty, and Peace Cafe had some badass tshirts I would have bought if I needed I didn’t already have an abundance of tshirts.
Today, I caught lunch from Loving Hut on King St. The vegan propaganda on the tv is a newly-anointed vegan’s wet dream, but I don’t know that it is converting anyone.
I say I “caught” lunch because I got there maybe 3 minutes before they closed. They were very kind, but I had to do takeout. When I got back to the hotel I had already checked out of, I found no flatware nor napkins in the bag. Ooops. So, I went into the hotel lobby bathroom, washed my hands, grabbed a bunch of paper towels, found a quiet, isolated corner in part of the lobby, and ate it with my hands. Doin’ it old school style in HI. At least it wasn’t curry?
I then walked all around the mall and finally down to the beach to find a recycling bin for my glass bottle from my beverage. That’s where I sit now and pretend I’m eating Waikiki with my camera.
